Common Names: Meadow Wort, Queen of the Meadow, Pride of the Meadow, Lady of the Meadow, Meadsweet, Bridewort, and Nature’s Asprin


Family: Roseaceae







Actions & Properties:

  • Analgesic

Indications:

  • Pain relief

  • Eases headachs & migraines

  • Eases joint pain

  • Supports a healthy immune system

  • Sooths an upset stomach, heartburn, & gastritis

  • Tightens & tones stomach lining

  • Eases diarrhea

  • Helps secondary infections

Contraindications:

· Due to the component salicylates found in Meadowsweet, do not take with antiplatelet prescriptions, anticoagulant prescriptions, and nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs

(NSAIDs).

· Avoid during pregnancy and lactation.

· Do not take with aspirin.

· Avoid or use with caution for those sensitive to aspirin.

· Avoid or use with caution for those with asthma.
